ADT Engineering Services team supplies turnkey turbomachinery design, analysis and optimization services to leading turbomachinery manufacturers in aerospace, automotive, industrial, marine and power generation industries.
Some of our recent projects include:

Turbochargers and Superchargers:

  • Multi-point, multi-disciplinary optimisation for a variable geometry radial inflow turbine for automotive application
  • Concept design, detailed design and optimisation of a mechanically decoupled automotive turbocharger compressor and turbine
  • Concept design, detailed design and multi-point, multi-disciplinary optimisation of a high-end Formula 1 turbocharger
  • Detailed design and multi-disciplinary optimisation for an e-supercharger compressor with very wide operating range for both mass flow and pressure ratio

Pumps and Fans:

  • Optimisation of a medium specific speed double-suction pump impeller for high efficiency
  • Design of a pump impeller for higher efficiency and significantly improved cavitation resistance at high mass flows
  • Design and optimisation of a multi-stage power station cooling pump
  • Design of a low specific speed cryogenic oxygen pump for increased stable operating range
  • Aerodynamic and mechanical design of multiple large, high pressure rise and high efficiency axial fans

Chillers and Compressors:

  • Aerodynamic and mechanical design of multiple refrigeration compressors, both single-stage and multi-stage, for powers ranging from <1kW to >100kW
  • Concept design of a high-efficiency axial steam compressor for water purification system

Research and Development 

Advanced Design Technology is actively pursuing joint R&D projects with major turbomachinery industries and research centres by forming consortium projects to solve some of the important generic problems in turbomachinery aerodynamics.

Training

The design of the Graphical User Interface for TURBOdesign1 and TURBOdesign2 has been done in such a way as to make the software very simple to use. However, in order to use the codes in an effective way and to obtain good aerodynamic designs training is required.
